Welcome to The Humberston Church of England Primary School
Our Vision
As St Peter holds the keys to Heaven, we hold the keys with which our children and staff will become empowered to unlock their sense of self-worth, respect and spirituality. Our welcoming and inclusive Church school is devoted to nurturing a community where all feel confident in their responsibility to effect positive change in the diverse and modern world we share. In pursuit of excellence, we strive to provide a holistic education that prepares our children with the tools, skills and fervour to become shining rays of light opening the door to a brighter future for all.
URGENT - KEY WORKER INFORMATION
Tuesday 5th January 2021
Dear Parent/carers,
I am writing to you today with a heavy heart after hearing that school will be closed again until at least half term. From tomorrow morning remote learning will be in place. Please ensure you can log on to your child’s Google Classrooms account to access this work.
Key workers and vulnerable children
Once again school will be open to those key workers who need our assistance with childcare. Work in school will be the home learning set by class teachers and facilitated by teaching assistants in school.
As during the March closure, we want to support the people who really need our help so please only ask for one of our limited places if both parents are key workers and there is no one at home or in your support or childcare bubble who can look after your children. As last time, the advice is “If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading”
If you do need to apply for a place, please only take a slot for the exact times/days you need. This way we will be able to offer places for all who urgently need one.
In order to be prepared for tomorrow we ask that you complete the booking form below and return to office@hcep.co.uk by 12 noon today (Tuesday 5th January 2021)
We aim to be in a position to confirm your child’s offer of a place for Wednesday 6th January by 4pm today. Please do not send your child into school without receiving an email confirming your child’s place. This email will also contain all of the important information you will need for your child’s first day back. We thank you for your patience and cooperation in these difficult times.
Thank you key workers for all you are doing to help keep us safe.
Home learning
We will be setting home learning tasks through google classrooms. Your child received a letter about this containing their login details and a user guide during the Autumn term, however if you have any technical difficulties, your class teacher will be able to guide you through the process ensuring you are all set up for the coming weeks ahead.
Teachers will set work at 9am each day, please see this as guidance only and complete the work in a way suitable for your situation. Teachers will be available between the hours of 9am and 4:00pm and are contactable through Google Classroom or the class emails. Teachers will also contact you by telephone once a week, more if required.
We wish you all well as we begin the New Year.
Stay safe.
Yours Sincerely
Mrs J Everitt

Executive Head Teacher's Welcome
On behalf of the children, staff and governors I wish you a very warm welcome.
At The Humberston Church of England Primary School we believe our role is to ensure that all of our children achieve the best they possibly can. We do this within the context of Christian belief and practice in an environment that stimulates a love of learning. We support our children to succeed academically, socially, personally, physically and spiritually and we do this by providing a personalised curriculum, which the children are fully engaged in creating. The children know where they are, where they can be and how they can get there.
The school environment is a calm and safe place where children feel they are able to ask for support and advice and are part of the decision making process.
We have chosen six Christian values, which we place a strong emphasis on to help create and sustain the Christian ethos of our school and develop a deep spiritual understanding. Our Christian values and ethos permeates all we do together.
Within our village school we have an extremely dedicated staff; teachers, non-teaching and support staff that support each child in reaching their potential. Visitors comment on our supportive team and our shared commitment to help every child in the school achieve their best.
We hope as you visit our website you will gain a sense of the value that we place in each child and our desire to ensure that high standards, in all areas, remain as high as possible within the caring and happy community which is The Humberston Church of England Primary School.
Thank you for visiting our website, I hope that you will find all that you are looking for. However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like some further information or a visit where you would receive a very warm welcome.
I look forward to meeting you and showing you around our wonderful school.
