The Bible teaches us that God wants us to honour and support each other, unlocking our possibilities so that we can make a positive difference in the world. Our vision underpins all that we do in school and is our driving force in living up to our Christian foundation.
Unlocking Possibilities...
Every child and staff member in school has given thought to the possibilities they would like to unlock during their time at Humberston Church of England Primary and have each contributed to a whole school display where everybody is represented by a key working together to unlock the padlock of possibilities. As children and staff leave our school onto their next chapter, they will take their key with them to serve as a reminder of the importance of learning new skills utilising a range of Christian values and God's unwavering strength and support.
... Making a Difference
Everyone in school is empowered and supported to flourish, reaching their true potential. We support each other in the best of times and the most challenging of times, building resilience and working together in unity to be agents of change, making a positive difference in God's world. We are never too small to make a difference!
We take inspiration from a range of sources, including our Picture News sessions, during which we regularly learn of social injustices around the globe. As God made everyone as equals in His image, we believe we have the responsibility to support and care for each other and therefore strive to be advocates for change.

Friendship at Home
Our Collective Worship Council children made a difference to many people in our local community feeling the effects of loneliness by working closely with a charity called ‘Friendship at Home’.
They visited members at the Annie Chappel Centre for games, colouring and a good old chat! Throughout lockdown they wrote letters and the whole school came on board to make a Friendship magazine, distributed throughout local community groups.
Friendship at Home representatives remarked at ‘how kind, patient and empathetic the children were with the members’ and said what a big difference they made in the lives of others.
Young Leaders Award
All of year our Year 5 children have enjoyed working towards their
Archbishop of York's ‘Young Leaders Award’.
They have learnt so much about leadership skills, resilience, teamwork and community care, culminating in a social action project to clean up our beloved Cleethorpes beach!
Sal's Shoes
On the last day of the Summer Term we supported the charity Sal’s Shoes who have distributed over 4 million pairs of shoes to children all around the world who struggle to afford them.
Many of us took off our school shoes at the end of the day, left them on our desks and walked out of school bare foot to put ourselves in the position of so many who are not as fortunate as us.
We can’t wait to see the positive impact that our donations will have around the world.
Trips and Visits
Our broad, balanced and rich curriculum, created with our vision in mind, allows for many visit opportunities to support and enrich children's learning. We've recently visited a range of places including Magna Science Centre, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, The Deep, Lincolnshire Life Musuem and Eden Camp.
Violin
Every child in years 3 and 4 has the opportunity to learn the violin courtesy of our very talented Mrs Townell!
Visitors
We regularly welcome visitors in to school to provide a whole host of exciting workshops and opportunities. In recent times children have taken part in Mini First Aid workshops, handled exotic animals such as snakes and tarantulas and learnt some fantastic new skills from an award winning freestyle footballer!
Extra Curricular Clubs
We aim to provide a unique array of exciting opportunities in the form of after school clubs. We hope that these experiences inspire children to learn new skills which they can use in the future, unlocking possibilities for themselves.
