Football Success

It has been fantastic to hit the ground running this year and start signing the school up to take part in local football competitions run by the School Sports Partnership and Stuart Blackburn. Find out what we have been up to by looking at the photos and information below.

Year 5/6 Boys 7-aside ESFA Tournament Tuesday 5th October 21

Following on from the girls football, our year 5/6 boys team and 4/5 boys team have continued with the success and taken part in some brilliant games over the past few weeks.
In the w.c 4th October, the Yr 5/6 boys team put in a solid performance against 9 different teams during their games and began to gel really well as a team throughout! With some tough games played, the team managed to put away a few goals between them and showed great teamwork and determination despite not playing before together. Overall they can 7th in the competition.

Again, thanks to the ongoing support on the side lines from parents and friends who attended- despite the weather conditions being atrocious.

Year 4/5 Boys 7-aside ESFA Tournament Thursday 14th October 21

More recently, on Thursday 14th October, Miss Knudsen and Miss Fletcher took the Yr 4/5 boys team who played in the same tournament and managed to put away a minimum of 8 goals overall- with most players managing to score at least 1 goal each!! They played some incredible football with some great set play, astonishing top corner saves and overlap runs which contributed to them finishing in 3rd place overall and receiving the RESPECT (a School Games Value) award as nominated by the 7 different teams who attended!!
What an incredible month it has been having the children playing football and retuning to competitions. As always, this wouldn’t be possible without the parents on the sidelines so thank you for your continued support.

Yr 5/6 girls 7-aside ESFA 28/9/21

On Tuesday 28th September, we were delighted to take a team of our Year 5/6 football girls to Oasis Academy Wintringham for their first sporting event of the new academic year and compete in the ESFA girls 7-aside tournament!

With only 7 minutes to get stuck in to each game, the girls fought hard throughout their 8 back-to-back matches and showed great resilience and team work- despite the awful weather conditions. We had some brilliant score lines ranging from 4-0 with an incredible hat trick from one of our girls and amazing finish from another, to a respectable 1-1 draw with a nice tap in from E.Os. Overall, the girls placed 5th with 15 points, closely behind the joint 2nd, 3rd and 4th winners who finished on 17 points. What an absolutely incredible start to the football season girls.

And lastly, thank you to all of the adults who came along to support the girls and encouraged them throughout their games- it is very much appreciated!
