We are encouraging our pupils and staff to try and both unlock possibilities and make a difference, big or small to themselves, each other, the community and beyond. We especially would like to hear about anything your child has done outside of school that has positively made a difference so we can celebrate this together on our website.
This could be anything from gaining a swimming award, to a local litter pick, washing a car for an elderly relative or taking part in a charitable event. The possibilities are endless! Whatever it is, we would love to hear from you.
To nominate your child to be celebrated in our Hall of Fame, please send any details and photos to office@hcep.co.uk with the subject heading 'Hall of Fame'. Please include your child's name and class.

Chess Champion!
I have just won a chess league at the Roll the Dice Cafe in which I played against people much older and experienced than me! I received a trophy and a certificate for great sportsmanship.
Perfect Performer!
I recently took part in the Cleethorpes Festival of Music and Words! I took to the stage to perform poetry and prose extracts from books, bringing words to life for the audience.
Fantastic First Aid!
We are so proud to hear of what one of our pupils did recently! When a young family member was choking, she remained calm and administered First Aid in the form of the heimlich manoeuvre, dislodging the object that was stuck. When asked how she knew what to do, she said she had learnt it at school during our annual Mini First Aid sessions! It just goes to show what a valuable life saving skill first aid is. Well done and congratulations on receiving one of our weekly Vision and Values Awards!
Race For Life Star!
I took part in the 5k Race For Life with my football team and together we raised £3,457.50 for Cancer Research UK!
Here's what my coach had to say "Well done girls! So proud of every single one of you, and an absolute credit to how much you’ve achieved and how much you’ve raised for a fantastic charity. Started it as a team and finished it as team. Well done girls, we're all super proud of you.

Skating Star!
I entered my first figure skating competition over the Easter holidays and had a brilliant time! I worked hard in my weekly ice skating lesson before hand practicing my routine and making changes, adding in more difficult elements before the competition. I was the youngest competitor in the competition and in my level was even up against adults!
On the day of the competition I completed her routine with confidence and skill. Due to being one of the first to perform I then stayed and cheered every skater on making suree I clapped and cheered for each element they completed.
I came 2nd in my level and felt so proud of myself receiving my medal on the podium!
Wow, what an amazing achievement! You've shown such determination, dedication and sportmanship here!
Singing Superstar
I recently performed in the The Lincolnshire Talent Show Semi Final and I've managed to make it to the final against others with incredible talent much older than me!
What a fantastic achievement! Good luck in the upcoming final.
Karate Medal
I recently attended the WUKF European Karate Championship in Latvia. I've been working really hard, and my parents are so proud that I managed to come away with a Bronze medal in my kata (forms) category! This was my first major competition and with over a 1000 competitors from 22 countries taking part it was an honour and achievement just to get on the mat and perform.
Well done and huge congratulations! You are unlocking new possiblities with these super karate skills.
Fantastic Football!
I've been nominated by my mum for being Player of the Match at a recent football game and for doing such a super job with my team mates during a tournament semi final. The coach said I showed confidence, teamwork and good communication skills in both games!

Fabulous Football!
At my end of year presentation I won several awards. My parents are extremely proud of me being selected from a large group of talented players!
My coach had this to say about my achievement: "A Massive congratulations for this goalkeeper of the year award. In the 4 years I’ve been giving this award out it has by far been the easiest year for me. His progress over the last 2 years has been amazing to see and I am excited to see how far he can go."
Musical Maestro!
I have been nominated by my mum for my amazing piano solo and duet. Mum mum says: she was so confident and played beautifully. She was awarded a Merit certificate for her solo and a First in her duet with a certificate and trophy. We are very proud of her hard work, effort she puts into practising and pushing herself out of her comfort zone to participate in a festival.

Cheerleading Stars
Well done to three of our Year 5 girls who have been awarded with a cheerleading trophy!

Boxing Bonanza!
One of our pupils is very proud to have supported his brother during a recent boxing match. When his brother won, he carried his brother's belt and was brave in front of a crowd of lots of people. Well done!
Sprinkle Surprise!
I've been super busy baking a cake for an annual Mixed Netball Tournament, which my mum runs in memory of a special friend that passed away.
The tournament is run through the Grimsby and District Senior Netball League, and has become the most successful netball tournament here with 24 teams. We raise funds each year for a different charity chosen by our league members.
This year we are supporting Friendship at Home. I raised £100 and everyone loved my “sprinkle surprise” - some people had more than one slice!
I love helping others - last year I ran the Muddy Race for Llife and I hope to take part this year too!
Well done on making such a huge difference in the lives of others!
The Player's Player!
I'd recently attended the Grimsby Town player of the year awards. There are only two awards given, Player of the Year and Player's Player. and I was awarded Player's Player of the Year!
My friends, family and teachers are very proud of my achievement!
Fantastic Football
I joined a football team in August and this week was awarded 'Player of the Match'!
Here is what my coach said about the new skills and possibilities I'm unlocking for myself:
A special well done, you were amazing today holding the ball up finding a pass. It was great to watch and your spacial awareness was so impressive to find space to receive the ball, and you topped it off with a quality finish. I love that you're shooting with both feet, well done and keep up the hard work!
Swimming Star!
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame for achieving my 800 metres swimming award this term. I completed 32 lengths of Havelock Swimming pool in 45 minutes!
Kickboxing Queen!
I have gained my second belt in Kickboxing!
I scored a huge 90% in a two-hour exam and was one of only four students to win an outstanding effort trophy for my work ethic and determination.
My family, friends and teachers and very proud of the possibilities I've been able to unlock thanks to my determination and resilience.
Super Swimmer!
I have achieved both my 400m and Bronze Challenge swim awards since moving into the advanced group.
I've perfected my stroke technique and I even managed my full one hour swim lesson after a busy day at the Skipping Festival!
Kickboxing Star
I've been nominated by my family for gaining my first Junior belt in kickboxing after starting three months ago. I attend classes every week and my family say they've seen me grow in strength and determination to learn and practise new skills!
I've unlocked a new possibility by learning new skills and I already have my sights set on the next belt!

Recently I completed my black belt exam for kickboxing. It lasted for six hours!

Great Gymnastics !
I have been going to Grimsby School of Gymnastics for just under two years and competed in my 1st competition in Hull recently!
I performed a floor routine and a vault - but with only 6 weeks to practice my floor routine!
I've shown perseverance, determination and courage and am really proud of my positions - 5th place for vault, 6th place for floor and overall 5th out of 19 in my team.
My club team came away in 1st place too.
Football Superstar!
I have been asked to sign for Grimsby Town Academy! Here I am celebrating my huge achievement.
My family, friends and teachers are all so proud of me.
I've worked hard for a very long time and have managed to unlock a great possibility through my footballing skills!
Dedication to Dressage!
My mum has nominated me for the Hall of Fame for my determination and dedication in my horse riding.
I have taken part in the Winter Dressage League for the last 6 months. I have learnt 6 Dressage tests at Prelim level and I gained two firsts, two seconds and a third. The points from these are added up and for an overall score, and I placed first!
My mum is extremely proud of how hard I have worked. I've persevered to achieve my goals and unlock new possibilities!
Super Skater!
I attend ice skating lessons weekly and have recently passed my bronze award after passing all of my other ‘skate uk’ levels before this. I am now working on my silver award. My mum says I have shown great determination in my ice skating by practicing every week and not giving up on difficult moves. My ice skating coach says I am the youngest pupil of hers to achieve some of the elements of figure skating. While at the ice rink, I also help out other skaters and give a lot of encouragement to skaters of all levels.
Well done for showing such resilience and perseverance and unlocking a new possibility. Your family and school are very proud!
Blue Peter Book Badge
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame by my mum because I just recently received my Blue Peter Book Badge!
I worked very hard in completing the application where I had to write about my favourite books and authors, complete a book review and draw a picture from a book! I was very excited to receive the badge along with a letter from the editor at Blue Peter.
Well done from everyone at school and home for showing such enthusiasm for reading. This will make a big difference to you and will help you unlock many possibilities for your future.
Karate King!
I have been nominated for the hall of fame by my family. They are so proud because at my recent grading, my sensei was very impressed and said I knew a lot more than I needed for the grade I was going for, so much so that I was double graded. This is very rare and something to be extremely proud of.

Amazing Art Work
Since attending Art club each Monday after school, I've learnt so many new skills and techniques thanks to Miss Macdonald!
I've been inspired to create this canvas painting at home and I'm so proud of the way it has turned out.
Going to art club has unlocked new possibilities that I can use to continue to develop my art skills!
Remote control car
I really enjoyed creating this remote control ghost trap car with my dad. It took me a few days to build but I persevered and I'm really proud of myself for managing to make it work! It was tricky at times but I showed resilience and it really paid off!
I use the remote control to move it and it also has a bright torch attached to it that also works.
Proton pack
I also made a Proton Pack that blasts anything I find. I decorated a large cardboard box and attached a plastic tube to use as the blaster. I am very proud of my inventions and have loved unlocking new creative and innovative possibilities for myself!
Halloween Happenings!
This half term we decided to make a 'Halloween Hunt' for families in our local community to take part in in our local country park. We chose ten different halloween themed images and numbered them. We thought carefully about where to place them around the lake and we kept going back over the course of the week to check none of them had been damaged or blown away in the windy and rainy weather!
Whilst we were there, we noticed lots of families, children and dog walkers enjoying taking part in the hunt. We've even had lots of comments and messages from the community telling us what a wonderful idea it was and how much they enjoyed it. We're glad we could make a difference in our community!
Super Swimmer!
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame by my mum for achieving both of my Learn to Swim Stage 4 and my Rainbow distance 200m awards.
Swimming is such an important skill to master and it looks like you are doing a fantastic job! Being able to swim so far will unlock lots of possibilities in lots of ways! Well done from us all at school!
Sparkle Walk 2023
On Saturday 16th September I took part in the annual Sparkle Walk in support of St Andrew's Hospice. I completed part of it with my nanna and part of it with an event organiser, who had such a wonderful time with me, that she felt compelled to write a letter to school to commend me on my behaviour, dertermination and courage in completing the walk.
School received a letter describing me as 'an absolute pleasure', who completed the challenge with a 'beautiful big smile, chatting all the way'.
School are so very proud of you for taking on an 8km walk with such resilience and bravery and determination to make a difference to those in need in our community.
Super Skipping!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a sponsored skip throughout the month of July. I needed to do 100 skips a day, every day and I raised a whopping £120 for Cancer Research UK!
Thank you for raising funds for a charity that will support so many people in challenging times. You've really made a difference!
Summer Reading Challenge
I was a busy bee this summer. I took part in a reading challenge through Cleethorpes Library in which I needed to read six chapter books in just one month! I completed the challenge and received a certificate and a medal congratulating me on my achievement. This has unlocked a new possibility for me, because upon returning to school in September all that extra reading over the summer meant that I was able to move up a book band colour!

Roller Hockey
I was nominated by my Mum for working so hard in Roller Hockey that I was awarded their 'Player of the Week'! Mum said I have shown fantastic resilience and shown wonderful unity in my team. Roller Hockey has really helped to make a difference to my life and has taught me some important skills that are not only needed in Roller Hockey but in everyday life. Well done!
Dog's
After learning about the increase in the number of dogs needing homes during a Picture News session at school, I felt compelled to act.
Trust
Animal shelters around the UK have explained that they are seeing an unprecedented amount of animals needing homes - thanks to the increasing cost of living, many people are unable to care for their pet and many more are unwilling to take a new one on.
Bike
As part of my work with Brownie's, I decided to support the charity Dogs Trust by doing a sponsored bike ride to raise money!
Ride
I biked an amazing 7.41 miles!
I hope that the money raised will make a difference in the lives of many dogs and support their care whilst they wait for a forever home.
A Fun Run!
I recently took part in a fun run at Normanby Hall to raise money for my football team.

Brilliant Beach Clean
We have recently been busy taking part in a beach clean.
We have given up some of our free time over the weekend to come together with other local volunteers to tidy up our beloved Cleethorpes Beach.
We found all sorts of random items, the funniest of which was a sweet potato!
We have shown many of our school Christian Values and have made a huge difference to the local community, cleaning our beach for us all to enjoy! Well done!
Rock
I have enjoyed supporting a cause very close to my heart recently.
I happened to come across a toy monkey named Rock who is travelling the world for breast cancer awareness. Rock began his journey in Winterton, Lincolnshire but aims to travel the country raising awareness for those suffering at the hands of breast cancer. I supported Rock on his quest by leaving him at Liverpool Football Club for someone else to find and move to a new location, all raising awareness and potentially saving lives.

Magical Moose the Guide Dog!
Thanks to a Christmas gift from my grandparents, I am now the proud sponsor of a trainee guide dog puppy named Moose! I get regular updates about Moose's progress and can't wait to hear even more about his training programme.
Her sponsorship means that in the future, Moose will be able to support a visually impaired person to live life to the fullest.

A Dream Come True!
Every football fanatic's dream came true for me recently when I went to watch my favorite team Manchester City play Everton.
I got given a raffle ticket for the chance to enter fun kids competitions before the match - to my amazement mine was the first ticket pulled out of the huge bag of entries.
I had to go head to head against 5 other children and complete a football skills activity in the fastest time to win the main prize.
I completed my task in the fastest time meaning that I had won the main prize ... to be a mascot at the match and walk out onto the pitch with the Man City team! My prize also included: greeting all the players as they got off the coach and hi-fiving them, having a photo with the match ball, meeting all the players in the tunnel after their warm up, a free kit and walking out with the team onto the pitch before the match. I even got to walk out hand in hand with John Stones and was on Match of the Day on TV the following morning!
I have used my excellent football skills to unlock an incredible opportunity for myself, the memories of which will last a life time.

World Cup Wonders
We'd like to thank two of our parents for their recent generosity. Upon hearing that we would be inviting children to wear a football kit or red and white clothing to school on Monday 21st November to celebrate England's first world cup match, Sophie Kinnaird and Beth Howlett decided to reach out via the power of social media to ask for support in buying some kits for any pupils in need of one. They had a wonderful response and used the donated money from local families and businesses to purchase a large amount of official England clothing for any of our pupils in need. Thank you - you really made a difference!
Oh sew amazing!
Miss McCoid and Miss Gregory have been nominated for the Hall of Fame for their determination and perseverance when creating these amazing Christmas wreaths, which were not very easy to do.
They have been able to unlock new possibilities for themselves by learning a new skill... sewing!

Football Team!
Well done to Louie, Teddy, Harry, Fraser and Jacob who have competed in a football tournament where they had to play 3 matches against children a year older than them. Congratulations to the boys and the rest of their team for winning the tournament!

Children's Book!
Elsie's mum would like to nominate her for the hard work she has put into their children’s grief book: ‘The Lady Who Came From The Sun’. Mum said "We started donating copies to schools, libraries, charities and individuals during lockdown, and have since donated over 200 copies! We were recently invited to Dove House Hospice in Hull to read our book as part of a Christmas memorial event and we have received letters of recognition from Sarah Ferguson and Marie Curie. (The story was read on Sarah’s Youtube channel: Story Time With Fergie and Friends!)
I am so proud of her for the love and bravery she has poured into this little journey in memory of her special Nanny".
Thank you to both of you for creating such a lovely book and for donating a copy to our school. You have made a big difference to many people and also demonstrated some of our Christian Values of compassion and service too!
Gymnastics Gold!
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame by my mum because I took part in a gymnastics competition, competing against teams from Hull, Barton upon Humber, Bridlington, and many others. This was my first regional competition and my mum says I gave it my all. I finished with Gold for the overall highest combined score for my floor routine and vault.
Congratulations! What a big achievement and you have shown great courage entering the competition. Well done!
Remembrance Parade
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame because I took part in my first parade with Beavers for Remembrance Sunday. My parents are so proud because I volunteered to parade the standard and did a brilliant job.
Well done! We can see you made a big difference to your Beavers' group by leading the way and for such a special occasion too.

We have been nominated by our mums for our volunteer work at the Cleethorpes Town Football Club where we were ball girls on Saturday for their FA cup match.

Race For Life
I have been nominated for the Hall of Fame by my mum. She is very proud of me for running my first 5k Race for Life today and raising money for Cancer Research.
Congratulations! you have certainly made a difference to many with your fund raising and giving us inspiration for what we can achieve. Well Done!
Football Team Captain
I play football on a Saturday morning and this weekend, I was captain and my team won the mini tournament we were playing in.
It sounds like you were showing fantastic leadership skills and we love your medal. Well done for making a difference to your team!
Beavers Camp
I had my first ever Beavers camp last weekend and managed to stay over the full night, which my parents thought was a huge achievement for me. My parents said I was really brave and the Beavers leaders said I had been so helpful and brilliantly behaved. I got a special certificate, a camping badge and a gift for staying over!
It sounds like you have had such a lot of fun and learnt lots of useful skills in the process. Your uniform looks very smart and we cannot wait to hear about any future adventures you have. Well done for making a difference!

Orsted Visitor Centre Official Opening
During Lockdown of 2021, I wrote to one of the Managers at Orsted to ask for some information on Wind Turbines, and expressed an interest in Wind Turbines and how they make eco friendly energy. I also expressed a wish to become a Turbine Technician when I am older.
Orsteds response to the letter has been fantastic, and they sent me a reply which included a Model Wind Turbine, Sweets, Pens, Stress Balls and a book telling a story of how Eco Energy is good for Planet Earth. They also sent me a personal video message made by two technicians who were on top of a Wind Turbine in The North Sea
Shortly after receipt of the letter, Orsted approached my dad and said that my letter had been picked up by Orsted Chief Executive Mads Nipper in Denmark, and Mads had asked if we would give permission for the letter to be released on their social channels. My letter has now been seen by over 5,000 people around the world and attracted over 130 comments.
In July we were approached again by Orsted to ask if I would like to be part of the official opening of Orsted New Visitor centre in September and to meet Mads Nipper who was scheduled to open the Centre.
I went along with Mum and Dad to the Centre. I got to try out all the exhibits and use the interactive explorer wall, Virtual Reality Headsets, and toured the back offices where the Helicopter Operations and Wind Turbine Operations are controlled from. We were able to watch a Helicopter land on the Service Vessel and swaps crews as they are monitored by Cameras. I was also interviewed by ITV Calendar News, BBC Humberside Radio, and appeared in the Grimsby Telegraph.
I learnt that Technician's who service the Turbines live on a Service Vessel for two weeks at a time at Sea, each Vessel has its own Gym, Cinema, Chef, Medical Centre and you each get a cabin. I will hopefully be invited back to look onboard one of the Vessels when it's in for maintenance.
What a fantastic day you have had and it sounds like your interest in this field has really made a difference to the company Orsted. Keep dreaming big and who knows the difference you could make to the world with your interests in renewable energy. Well done!
Year 6 Boys win the Final!
We have been nominated for the hall of fame due to our excellent achievement in winning the Ramsden's Cup Final on Friday 3rd May 2024. We won against Humberston Cloverfields, with a final score of 3-2. We showed determination, drive and passion and demonstrated excellent football skills. We showed resilliance and never gave up, despite the score being 2-1 to Cloverfields at half time. We bounced back and showed our Christian values of perseverance, courage and unity. We unlocked new possibilities and made our school proud.
