Topic:

This term, our two topics are The Blue Abyss and Natural Disasters. 

The Blue Abyss

We have been learning about the Oceans around the world and the layers of the ocean. We looked which creatures live in certain layers of the Ocean and their features.

Natural Disasters

We will be learning about what a Natural Disaster is and how they are caused. We will be learning about different volcanic eruptions around the world and how living by volcanoes can affect people living around them.

Maths:

We will be learning about Multiplication and Division and Statistics. We made some fantastic bar charts out of the children in the class and finding out lots of information using tally charts, pictograms and bar charts.

Writing:

This term, we have been writing a letter to Borsi Johnson to persuade him to stop plastic pollution. We have learned about the features of a persuasive letter and used these effectively to create our letter which we will e sending to 10 Downing Street.

Reading:

Our main focus this term with reading is comprehension and the different reading skills that are needed to be able to understand a text. We are currently reading 'Bill's New Frock'. We have enjoyed learning about Bill and gender roles in society and using different reading strategies to complete a range of activities based on the story.
