Dragons and Castles

We're having a great time learning all about dragons and castles for our new Spring Term topic.

We've already made dragon eyes from clay, written a diary entry for Zog the dragon and made a 3D castle complete with a working drawbridge!

We can't wait to see what the rest of the term will bring,

Class 2

When learning all about the four countries of the UK, we plotted castles from the capital cities on to a map.

Class 2

We're so proud of our castles.

We made sure to include key features such as arrow slits, battlements and a drawbridge.

Class 2

We learnt all about the different tools and techniques that can be used to shape clay.

Class 3

We are finding it so interesting learning about medieval times!

Class 3

We have been learning about different types of castles and have even been designing our own.

Class 4

We made some castles out of different materials!

Class 4

We even had the challenge of having to include a draw bridge too!

Class 4

We created dragon eyes out of clay and paint. We had to carefully sculpt them and add lots of details on to make them look realistic!

Class 4

We looked at the types of food people would eat in medieval times. They didn't have Tesco or McDonalds!

Class 4

We worked really hard on our observational drawings of fruit. We sketched the outline first to get the right shapes and sizes and then went back to add texture and shading.
