Quick Start Guide
If you ask any teacher, the one thing on their wish list for children to learn would be their times tables. It is not always clear to see but times tables link to so many other areas of maths and is the one thing that slows children down in making progress in maths. So if in doubt, you can never go wrong with practising the timestables.
Another skill which is so important for children to master is reading. Reading feeds into every single element of the curriculum so a little reading each day goes a long way.
If you do feel able to extend the home learning further than this, then please feel free to browse through the following pages for ideas and resources to help. If not then please do not worry or put extra pressure on yourself or your child.

Most Useful Links - Online Lessons
The following links are fantastic in providing resources and online lessons for your child and are a great starting place.
The Oak National Academy
You may have seen in the news that the Government have set up a new website containing a series of online lessons for your child to access. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that this website along with all of our other links are completely optional and is available for you to use as much or as little as you would like.
The website is very flexible and offers two ways of working. One is subject based where you pick and choose lessons. This approach is ideal if you want to sample a few lessons and dip in and out. The other option is where you follow a schedule of lessons. This approach is ideal if you would like your child to have more structure to their learning.
As a school, we do not have a preference towards either option and would encourage children and parents to use this resource in the way that best suits them.

Bible Story Telling
Margaret Dellar has been visiting our school regularly for a number of years leading whole school collective worships and workshops about the Bible and Religion. She is loved by all of the pupils and she brings Bible stories to life. Margaret has kindly created a set of videos retelling different Bible stories linked to the rainbows we are so often seeing in windows of houses across the country. We will post new videos as they are released, we expect this to be weekly.
