PE
PE will take place outside as weather permits. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school every day as we may take advantage of good weather to get active outside on any day!
Home Reading
Our older children are already bringing home a book to share during the course of the week. As a result of current requirements it is necessary to quarantine the books over the weekend before sending them out again so we ask that books are handed in on a Friday ready to be handed out again on Monday. We understand that it is sometimes difficult to complete the activities during the week and if you would prefer to have books changed fortnightly so that you have a book over the weekend please let us know.
The home school reading diary includes suggestions regarding the ways in which you and your child can record children's responses to the book. Providing that a response has been made and recorded we will issue a new book on Monday.
Reading little and often reaps dividends. If you would like any further advice or ideas please do not hesitiate to contact us.
Phonics Books
We ask also that red Phonics books are handed in each Friday. Y1 books will be returned on a Monday while FS books will be returned on the day that a Word Time session has been taught.
The Phonics books are intended to support you in your efforts to help your child to practise their developing phonics skills. They are updated weekly as new sound spellings are taught, or alternatively include a suggestion for practice of sounds already taught. Please feel free to use these books as you and your child wish.
