On Tuesday 13th June, 8 of our Year 5 children were able to represent the school by taking part in a mixed cricket competition held at Grimsby Cricket Club. With five schools to play against, the Humberston team knew that they had to put up a solid performance from the get go and that is just what they did. Leading the way with the first game being won, our team continued their winning streak throughout the competition- even against the close competition and battle against Signhills. 

A day consisting of superb batting partnerships, numerous 'sixes', 'fours' and 'wickets' and just all round incredible teamwork lead the team to winning all 5 of their games which secured their position as the Year 5 mixed cricket champions of 2023. As well as this, the team now have the opportunity to progress to the Lincolnshire County Cricket Year 5 Mixed Cup which will be held in a few weeks time.
