Throughout the week, in class and in our worships, the children learned about Lent. We explored how Shrove Tuesday prepares us for Lent and traditionally was a time of using up ingredients that may have gone to waste during a period of fasting for 40 days, mirroring Jesus' sacrifices during His time in the desert. We then discovered how Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and how many Christians may receive the sign of the cross on their foreheads in church. 

Each class took part in pancake races and we had some expert pancake flips along the way. Perhaps we have some budding chefs in the making! Please enjoy looking at some of the photos from the day.
