Class 8 Bikeability
10/7/23 & 11/7/23
Class 8 took to the playground and the streets of Humberston as part of their Bikeability course 2023. Prior to hitting the roads, all pupils had to pass Level 1 on the playground following safety checks of their bikes and simple stops and starts. With the class picking things up very quickly, they were moved on to right hand signals and left hand signals before their final challange of turning at 'junctions' on the playground.
With all children completing their Level 1 with success, Monday afternoon and Tuesday were full of on road biking and applying their skills to real life situations. Turning left at a junction, right across a junction, turning left off the main road and right across traffic on a main road, Class 8 were able to use their confidence, their patience and their skills appropriately to pass their Level 2. As extras because Class 8 were that advanced with skill progression during the course, they were able to have the extra challenge of passing parked cars against traffic and also they were all able to bike back to school on the roads.
Every coach had nothing but positive praise for both the listening and attitudes of the children in Class 8 and attached to the slideshow is a write up from the Lincs Inspire coaches about their days with the children.
Well done Class 8- 100% pass rate!
