Mount Vesuvius Eruption!

As part of our Romans topic, we explored the Roman city of Pompeii and the devastating day that Mount Vesuvius erupted. We have written our own diary entries from the point of view of a child in Pompeii during the eruption and we became so intirgued and excited by volcanoes, we asked Miss Aisthorpe if we could learn more about them.

We had lots of fun learning about volcanoes. We created information posters explaining the different parts of a volcano and why they erupt; we have painted an erupting volcano out of watercolours and we have made out own model volcanoes out of salt dough which we erupted using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar.
