Jobs and Responsibilities
In our commitment to developing the whole child, we have introduced a range of jobs around the school to promote independence, responsibility and aspirations within our children. Securing a job and being a dependable member of a team is just one way of teaching our children about British values and what it means to become a responsible citizen in the community.
We have a jobs display board visible to all children. When job vacancies become available, they are advertised on this board showing children the hours they will be expected to work, their roles and responsibilities, the qualities we are looking for in the applicant and their pay (terrific tickets).
Children then complete application forms and are considered for the role. The children will attend interviews and be given feedback on why they have or have not been employed. Once selected, the children are expected to be self motivated to complete their tasks to the best of their ability. As with any job in the real world, the children are expected to give notice if they wish to leave their job to pursue another venture. All of these processes teach the children about the world of work preparing them for their future.
We have been very pleased with the enthusiasm of the children and the high number of applicants for each job.
Keep up the good work!
